If I own a mobile home does that mean I do not qualify for the first time home buyer tax credit?

No you are not ruled out on this qualification. If the home still has the wheels and axels attached its not considered a home when buying your first home. Its just like owning a RV. If you own the land and you are on title thats another issue. But having a mobile home doesnt count under the right circumstances. I suggest contacting your CPA. Mine was able to get my customers the Credit.
