Idly dreaming of vacationing in Bodega Bay

Asked by Mike Stevens, 94121 Wed Sep 24, 2008

I'm working on a blog post about buying your dream vacation home, since I live in Northern California already, Bodega Bay sounded very nice to me. So, what I am asking is this, what is a good price point for a family with an income of around $150k/year? Is renting the house out easy? How do lenders currently look at vacation home purchases in this area? At any rate, I would love to hear any thoughts from agents, or experienced buyers/owners.

Your family income has nothing to do with a "good price point". Your net income after all your expenses would be a much better indication of your ability to purchase. This and your other question regarding lenders is best answered by a lender, and not a real estate professional. Call Greg at RPM Mortgage - (800) 244-1302. He can answer all your lender related questions.
"Is renting out a house easy" - what you see as "easy" can be interpreted many different ways. Contact Matt or Pam at http://www.bodegabayescapes - they are in the rental business and can answer those questions.
Contact Adams Realty at (707) 875-3200 for all your real estate related questions.
