Osprey and Nokimis are both great towns! I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but I'll touch on a few highlights.
In Osprey you will find the Oscar Scherer State Park with its lush Florida foliage, pine flatwoods and natural surroundings. The local residents are very involved in sustaining this natural treasure. The park has fifteen miles of hiking and biking trails, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, picnic sites and a wealth of wildlife, from the majestic bald eagles to otters, alligators and bobcats.
Most beaches in the Osprey Florida area are private, but you can find plenty of opportunity to swim and lounge on the beaches of Casey Key in nearby Nokomis, or on Siesta Key.
The communities in and around Osprey, Florida and nearby Nokomis include The Oaks, Southbay, The Woodlands at Rivendell, the Sorrento neighborhoods of Sorrento East, Sorrento Shores, and Sorrento Woods. The Osprey area has a mix of older and newer neighborhoods. Right next to Rivendell is Pine View School, a challenging Sarasota county public school for the gifted recently rated among the top ten best schools in the country with 99% of its graduates going to college.
In Osprey, Florida you can find larger upscale single-family homes dotting the lush Florida landscape, and multi-million dollar estates along the Intracoastal Waterway. The town of Osprey is considered by most to be a wealthy area with the highest per capita income in greater Sarasota.
The Southbay Yacht and Racquet Club is well established area on Sarasota Bay, with a beautiful clubhouse and heated pool, and walking trails. While most of these homes were built 20-30 years ago, many have been renovated and upgraded. Some homes have exquisite views of the bay, and nearly all have access to the marina where you can find slips and docking for your boat.
The Oaks is a picturesque golfing community of upscale homes just over the Osprey-Sarasota line. The community is comprised of three neighborhoods - Oaks Clubside, Oaks Bayside and The Preserve – and offers twelve Har-Tru tennis courts, 36 holes of great golf, a pristine pool and playground and a luxury atmosphere.
Willowbend is located across from Southbay, east of US 41. This maintenance-free community has a large swimming pool and fitness center, and a beautiful community center. Some homes have a backyard view of the Oscar Scherer State Park.
The Rivendell and Park Trace communities are new neighborhoods with moderate to high-priced homes ranging from $300,000 to $1,000,000.
The Bay Street Village community is currently under development and will comprise 40 acres, and 500 lofts, condos and townhomes when it is completed. This neighborhood was conceived to balance work and family and will have shopping, libraries and other amenities.

NOKOMIS
Nokomis was named after the grandmother of Hiawatha, and you may remember it from the famous poem.

Watch boats glide by while you enjoy seafood chowder at Pelican Alley or try Briandi’s Italian Restaurant or Capt. Eddies Seafood, another local favorite. You can jet ski, water ski, swim, go boating or fishing, diving, kayaking and canoeing, or you can plop down on your beach towel and work on the perfect Florida tan - all while enjoying the gentle caress of the tropical breezes. The beach is only a half mile outside town, and the Nokomis Beach and Park comprises twenty-two acres and 1,700 pristine feet of shoreline on the Gulf of Mexico, with another 3,200 feet stretched along the Intracoastal Waterway.
