Sam,

Jennifer is right on. First step in home hunting is to find out how much home you can and want to afford. They will factor in not only mortgage payments, but also taxes and monthly association fees. There are many mortgage products out there and l suggest that you shop around not only for the best quote but also until you find someone you feel comfortable with. In addition, make sure you ask for a good faith estimate which will give you detailed printout of their costs and your monthly payments. Once you have this information you can then search for a place to live.

Good luck!!!

The first step is to speak with a mortgage professional. That way you can determine how much you can spend on the condo. I would be happy to help you with that. There are many factors that effect the payment and different ways to get more for your money. Please feel free to contact me at 386-882-5699 or by email at jennifer.r.powers@us.hsbc.com.
