I've tried to work with a Real Estate Agent in El Dorado to handle a transaction to find and buy a property
in that city. Don't know the city well, and must rely on the professional assistance of an agent. Agent has not been very proactive and I am considering finding another agent to handle my needs. I am doing most of my research by internet, but once I have identified a property that I think I will buy, I will take a trip to El Dorado, AR to see the property. I heed a good agent there who will work with me consistently until I can get a contract. I am a serious buyer and I need a serious agent. My purchase will be a property possibly under $100,000. I am trying to do this business from CA. Could that be why the agent has not been responsive enough?

Google jans realty el dorado she is a long time local and a very honest person. She has her listings on her site and also on ezmls dot com
word of warning... el dorado has hit and miss neighborhoods. 60k to 70k range homes you need to see the neighborhood for yourself in person. 80k to 90k you can get a lot nicer neighborhood in el dorado. You might be able to buy a home sight unseen in that range if you can fly out from Cali. But not in the 60k to 70k range.
My family is from El Dorado. Please be careful purchasing in that area. They have been having some economic trouble there for the last several years. Business have been drying up and many people aren't sticking around. They need some serious reform and if it happens, it will be a slow, slow process.
If I were you, I'd find another agent & another area. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE it down there. My parents still live near there, but I wouldn't buy a piece of property there unless it was timber land, south of El Dorado!
Also, as an investor, you need someone to communicate with you on a regular basis. Not just about the property, but also about the economy. You should have no trouble find foreclosures, pre-foreclosures, short-sales, with the help of a good agent.
