Henderson offers many positive including a suburban feel with Las Vegas less than 15 minutes away. I would recommend visiting various neighborhoods within Henderson and surrounding Las Vegas to determine if you would like the quality of life offered in Southern Nevada. Plus there are no state income taxes in Nevada!

Let me know if you have any specific questions or would like a recommendation of neighborhoods to visit based on your needs.

I'm absolutely certain Henderson is a wonderful place to live.
The question you REALLY need to ask is what is the cost, the real cost of saying, "No."

Is this a developmental or progression position?
Is this a step into a more leadership role?
Is your current office or department about to be downsized or outsourced?
How will saying 'No" impact future earnings potential?

Why would you move to Henderson?
It may be for self preservation.

Henderson has it's own flavor. I have lived in both county and North Las Vegas and my last home before the nursing home is here in Henderson. It's quieter, sleepier, yet just 15-20 minutes from the most exciting Strip on Earth. The location is super. Close to the airport, Lake Mead and the highway to everywhere east.

The government is wonderful. I had to pull a building permit and they couldn't have been more helpful. Ditto in setting up a water account.

Come on down!

Henderson, NV is a wonderful place to call home. Henderson, NV can offer beautiful homes, master planned communities, a plethora of parks and recreation, a mecca of local amenities, close proximity to Las Vegas and some stellar schools. The feel to a city is important. In addition to checking out the city with a Realtor, also come and see it yourself prior to moving. Please let me know if I may be of assistance as I am a Henderson real estate professional and I am well-versed on the area.

For one thing, according to FBI statistics, Henderson is ranked in the top 20 safest cities to live in the entire United States.

It is also a very family oriented town, with great shopping and restaurants and lots of parks, biking trails, and sports fields for the locals to enjoy. Some of the best rated schools are in Henderson as well. (Coronado High School is ranked as a 5 star school. Both my kids went there and we loved it.)

For me, one of the nicest things about Henderson is that it is laid back and quietly suburban, but just 15 minutes away you can still take advantage of all the shows and attractions the Las Vegas Strip has to offer. In particular we love going downtown to the Smith Center to see all the Broadway Musicals and concerts.

Since you haven't been to Henderson before, you might find this link describing all the major neighborhoods helpful:

If you have any questions in particular about living here, please feel free to fire away. We've lived in the Vegas Valley since 1979 and in Henderson itself since 1984, so hopefully we will have good answers for you.

When it comes to homes and communities,...we all have different taste.
Only you can decide if Henderson is the type of city that you would like to reside in.

What I can tell you is that Henderso is consistently rated as one of the safest cities in America to live in.
There are also some great neighborhoods to raise children and easy access to everything including the airport.
Click below for a recent article about Henderson...

Also,... Just because you are going to be working in Henderson,..that doesn't mean that you have to live there.
Las Vegas is the next town north if you like the convenience of being close to the dining, entertainment and gambling,.... or you can live in Boulder City which is the town to the south.

I wrote a blog about a home that I listed in Boulder City last year and According to the Chamber of Commerce,..there is no gaming, low crime rates, quality police and fire protection and a wonderful retirement sector.

I am a "Full Time Realtor" and will be happy to talk to you about the different areas that may interest you for your relocation.

I've found that what people need is plenty of information so that they can make informed decisions and I can definitely provide that for you.
