I sold a house in September and a couple weeks later I got the property tax bill. I contacted the bank that done the loan and ask if the new owner

Was suppose to pay their part from closing cost. The banker said they didn't do that. How can I get the money from the new owner for their part? If I don't pay the taxes what will happen?

This should have all been resolved at closing. It should be on your HUD statement from the title company.

The property taxes were almost certainly prorated at closing and the buyer would be responsible for paying the taxes in their entirety. Contact the title company so they can show you that your portion of the taxes were already paid as shown on the settlement statement.
