Vickieanders…, Home Buyer in Haltom City, TX

I recently inherited a home that will soon be put in my name, I 've never had a mortgage in my name. Am I considered a first time homebuyer?

Vickie,

Give me a call and I'll try to answer all your questions.

Maybe you don't need a mortgage.

It probably does not matter if you are a first time homebuyer or not, but are you thinking you need a mortgage?

yes and no...technically you have inherited the home, so there is no purchase. If there is a outstanding mortgage balance on the home, and you need to re-finance the mortgage into your name, then you would be a first time buyer, but there are no credits for first time home buyers. Your best bet is to find a good local Realtor or lender in your area, and ask them about the specifics...

Best,
