Contact the police and have a restraining or protective order placed on her.
If she files suit against you contact your title insurance company.
Otherwise ignore her and tell her to go after the boyfriend.

Call the police. Even if the girlfriend is "right" in that she has some claim to the property, she has no right to harass you and your family. This has escalated beyond an issue of legal title and ownership. You need to protect yourself and your family. Call the police.

a) In order for you too purchase the house title company had to confirm you had a clear title. I would recommend to contact the title company, and request a letter, therefore you can forward certified mail to the prior owner girlfriend and state she has no claim or can sue for the fact you had the clear title
b) Search tax rolls will show who were the priro owners on the property determine if she is on the tax roll
c) If she was only living there or whatever the circumstance was UNLESS she was on title she would need ot have released the property and sign the title paperwork. It sound as though she was not on title therefore she has no claim
d) If so she as a claim against her former boyfriend not you
e) If she continues she could be sued for slander since she is talking with the neighbors

Did you close in a Title Company or an attorney's office where you would have been given a title policy? Was the "girlfriend's" name on the deed? If you did not close in a title company or attorney's office, how do you know you have a "clear title"?
IF all was done correctly, and HER name was NOT on the title (because she would have had to sign the closing documents), then I'm with Diane. She can go pound sand, dirt, her old boyfriend OR WHATEVER, because she has no claim on the house. I'm not an attorney either, so before it gets really nasty call one!

If you have clear title evidenced by an issued valid title insurance policy then the girl can go pound sand. File a restraining order or call the authorities next time she comes around. If you maintain your cool and not react to her obnoxious behavior then the neighbors will see for themselves the difference in character and not listen to her. I'm so sorry that you are experienced such a nuisance. Very uncommon but a situation you must deal with and briskly. Good luck.

Hmmm....I assume the preevious owners girlfriend was never on title? I am not an attorney...you may want to consult one...but my first thought is to contact the local police department and ask about a restraining order. They may be able to give you additional advice. Good luck. Sorry this is happening to you.
