Did you know that if you are concerned with foundation issues, you can have a free foundation estimate conducted by CENTEX Foundation and Repair 512-444-5438. However, if the home in question doesn't show signs of foundation problems like doors that are hard to open/close, wall cracks (often around doors leading toward the ceiling), or floors that slope, it may not be a concern. A good home inspector will let you know these concerns with his inspection. He'll also recommend to you whether you should have further, more detailed inspections done whether it's the HVAC, or other systems and issues.

I've stood by while Jose Vasquez of Mi Casa Home Inspections512-203-6178 micasahomeinspections.com checked out every appliance, system, door latch, shingle, etc... He walks the roof, and checks every crack and crevice of the home to ensure you know what concerns there may be.

Honestly, if you are using a Realtor, he/she should have recommended a couple of Licensed Home Inspectors for you to choose from. Happy home buying! -Angela

He and his son make an amazing team- are very through and were one of the first in town to give a highly detailed report with digital photos. I find it a great reference for the house not only when you are purchasing it- but for future reference as well.

I found my favorite inspector the hard way... when I was selling my personal home. I really trust Chris Nowling and Steve Cannon of Apex Inspections (512)891-7600, http://www.apexhomeinspections.net. They do a very thorough job and print you a copy of the report at the house and email it to the Buyer and their Realtor. Of course you should call several inspectors, and check out their websites and see who YOU like. Good luck!

Hi Sean,
I used Brian Eberwine for my personal home inspection and I recommend him to all of my clients. He actually kind of scares people with the overdelivery of information and sometimes tells you things you don't need to hear....but you can't knock the guy for being thorough.

Give him a call and have a brief conversation to assess if it's a good fit. Make sure you call at least 3, compare prices and quality.
