Sarah,
The answers so far are accurate considering the lack of information. It sounds like you want help, which I would be glad to give. Contact me at 574-361-3655 or Patty@WiseHomeMoves.com with a little more information about the house you are asking about.

Does this property have a sign?
Is it empty? If it's empty and you can not talk to the owner, you may want to talk to the neighbors as to what the status is.
If it has a sign call the listing agent.

Sarah, How do you know it's for sale? Did you drive by it, see it on the web? Do you have the address? Here are some tips:
1. If it has a sign on the lawn call the number on the sign.
2. Knock on the door and ask--Is this home really for sale?
3. If the property has an address, write it down, go to the County Tax Assessor's office and ask for the legal owner.
4. Call another real estate company whose signs you see in the area and ask them if they know of any thing about the property.

All kidding aside-Give US MORE INFORMATION PLEASE!!
