I'm relocating to CT, what town would give the best commute to both Hartford AND East Hartford?

Britt Leach

Hartford, CT

My husband and I will be moving to CT and are looking for somewhere with a shorter commute to Hartford, but we definitely want the suburb feel rather than the city. He will be at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, while I will be working at PwC on Asylum St in the middle of downtown Hartford. What would be the BEST place to look taking into consideration both of our commutes?

Hi my name is Rose Canha and I am a licensed Realtor in CT & MA. I am with Trend 2000 Real Estate. We have 3 offices, one in Enfield,Suffield & Bristol.
The best thing for you and your husband to do is sit down with the Realtor you choose, and discuss your needs and wants. Your Realtor should be able to guide you to various neighborhoods in close proximity to Hartford & E Hartford. For instance drive thru different towns and get a "feel" for them.

There are a number of towns in the Greater Hartford area that offer relatively easy commutes to both your places of employment. I work with many Pratt families coming to or leaving Connecticut and would be happy to send you a relocation packet consisting of maps, school reports, town information, etc. Please let me know if this would be of value.

Britt,

Any of the towns surrounding Hartford and East Hartford would be an easy commute to either location. The town you select would be based on your price range and how that towns services can meet your needs. There are many people who live in South Windsor that work in Hartford and at Pratt. South Windsor is about a 10 minute drive to both locations, has the suburb feel you are looking for with easy access to the highway, shopping, entertainment and restaurants.

I would be happy to help you in your home search. Please call me at 860-871-5882 or email at jalix@prudentialct.com.

Thanks,
Jennifer

I have a FSBO in Enfield if you are interested. Enfield is a real nice town. Very little if any crime. Centrally located between Hartford CT and Springfield MA. It is only 10 minutes to Hartford and approx 15 - 20 minutes to Pratt in East Hartford.. I am less than 1/2 mile from I91 but in a small safe neighborhood. Email me and I can give you more details. budrusty@aol.com

Well, it will depend on your price range as well as commute time.
Manchester has some nice areas, Glastonbury and Rocky Hill are a little higher end, maybe even West Hartford.
The best thing to do is to come to town for a tour and get a feel of the area.
