I'm really intrested in the Central City condos in Atlanta, What is the history of this property?

Ditto the person below - I'd check out City Heights. (Full disclosure, I'm a first time homeowner in City Heights but I don't have any intention of selling any time soon). There are some steals at City Heights and it's literally across the street from Central City. I actually looked at units in both before making up my mind - the prices at Central are actually *higher* even though the amenities (and views) at Heights are far superior. Don't take anybody's word, though....check them out for yourself...

Yeah, a lot of the units still seem to be empty. When I drive by there in the evenings I see almost no lights on. I'd look at City Heights across the street - you can get a lot more for your money (24 hr concierge, nicer pool, 4 acres of property, and some killer views).

Choose your Intown real estate wisely, Tony.

I saw Central City when it was just dirt - not a remarkable lot. Not enough retail and pedestrian friendly amenities nearby, but they will come - sorta...does CVS and Chik Fil A count?

Regardless, the entire area is one of the most accessible for commuters in the city. My wife lived at McGill Park and loved it for nearly 5 years. Safe, secure - nice, quiet. 1 minute and you are on the highway. 5 minutes and you are in the best retail in all directions. Freedom Park is terrific for athetic folks. Downtown is cool...you name it.

I've shown, listed and sold properties at McGill Place, McGill Park, City Heights and Renaissance since 2004. When Central City went up, my Buyer Sandra and I looked at them, and nearly everything else comparable - musta been Autumn 2006. She bought at Tribute around the corner last June - Tribute is sweet - Choate built them. Great piece of land for the product. They need some retail, but the market will dictate that.

Nevertheless, I don't remember anything remarkable about Central City - I like the interior pool - I like the secure interior perimeter that enables good neighbors. Otherwise, it has a lot of competition, and none of my other clients seem to be able to fall in love with the location.

What's the history? The money ran out due to speculative credit misamanagement. The bank took over - you don't pay - you don't stay.

If you are interested, then what is leading you to Central City over all other real estate investments? Is this going to be a primary residence?

"Foreclosed yesterday, for you today" that is their motto. The price point here starts around 134,000 for a one bedroom. Central city condos are located at the cross roads of Virginia Highlands, Midtown, and Downtown.
