Tanya,
I am a relocation specialist and I think you will love living in Hampton. I've lived here over 30 years. Hopefully you are ready for a tropical climate. My daughter is now a sophmore in highschool and has come through the Hampton school system. Hampton provides a lot of options for young people. There are science and math magnet schools, language arts magnet schools, and special schools for the academically gifted. Does your son have gifts in any of these areas of study? There are also schools that have wonderful music programs and others that are tops in the state in athletics. As you look to the future, the high schools allow early college credit to be earned and have cooperating programs with local technical schools to earn a skill or medical certification so they can hit the ground running right after graduation. So, you have a lot to consider for your son's education, but it's good to have options that don't necessarily limit the school district where you choose to live. Also, take a look at the Hampton City School system website for more info. Call me anytime for a personal consult.
