I'm looking at puchasing a rental in the area of Gold and Reiman in Buffalo. Can anyone tell me just how bad?

it is? Tenants are section 8, so I know it's not paradise. But how is it in comparison to other areas in the city? Is it safe, or am I running the risk of all the houses on the street being boarded up now or in the near future? (Zip is 14206 if that helps.) Thanks.

I live in the area. It is the area bordering Lovejoy and Sloan. If you check the listings yu'll see the number of vacancies climbing.Sloan has the higest taxes and with the economy, many many forclosures.Lovejoy has changed and the decay is setting in there also. Many houses are used as rentals, and not well maintained by these absentee landlords.
