there usually an agreement or contract between the buyer and realtor?
First you need to get prequalified with a lender. Then you should ask your friends/family for suggestions and meet with a few realtors. There is no benefit to you going at this alone as it is the seller that pays your realtor commission.
Stephanie,
Do you know what to look for in a property or the purchase and sale agreement? Do you know what to ask of the seller? Do you know what programs are available to help you with your purchase? Hint: You don't have to deplete your savings to buy a home. I could go on.
If you feel that you can safely look out for your own interests, get everything you're entitled to, have all the resources in place to help you close without the risk of losing a small fortune in earnest money, I'd still advise you to at least speak with an agent. As has been said repeatedly, working with your own real estate agent will likely cost you nothing, but working without one could cost you dearly.

good afternoon.......no question.....use a licensed real estate agent.....best of luck to you.bob mcclure- success mortgage partners- plymouth, michigan......
Stephanie,
I would always work with a realtor. First of all Interview realtors. It doesn't cost you anything as a buyer to work with a realtor. Find someone that has your interest and a proven record.
Thanks

Stephanie,
Why would you jump into your largest decision financially, without help of a professional!?
Absolutely, get a great full time agent and yes, sign a contract, so that they are contractually obligated to jump when you say jump!
Didn’t find what you were looking for? Ask a question!
