Rose,
Blackland Prairie and Forest Creek elementary are both great school. My kids have attended both of these school. I have been on the executive PTA board for both schools. I have also been on the executive PTA board for the two border schools. All total I have had interaction with RR schools and the PTA for the last 11 years. The volunteer base at these schools are wonderful. We have a great parent resource base which enables the PTA to bring many programs to these schools. I also sell homes in the neighborhoods that feed into these schools. I also live in the neighborhood. I think you will find that the schools along with the neighborhoods offer many advantages. Some neighborhoods are, Lake Forest, Forest Creek, and Forest Ridge. Please contact me if you would like any information on these neighborhoods.

My daughter goes to Cactus Ranch Elementary in Round Rock. It's an exemplary rated school and it's been wonderful for her. My sister is a teacher at Old Town Elementary, just down the street from Cactus Ranch. It's also a great school. I really haven't heard anything negative about any of the RR schools. It's really a great school district in general.

Have you considered the beautiful Texas Hill Country? Small town living, city convenience and great schools. Check out Kerrville and our website http://www.reretx.com has city info on it too. Kerrville is only a 45 minute drive from NW San Antonio if you want to commute to a larger city. The amenities of living here are numerous and the area is a paradise.

Brushy Creek Elementary School is a really good school to consider. The kids are usually ranked tops in reading. The staff seems to be dedicated and takes interest in each kid. It may not be the prettiest school but don't judge this book by its cover. Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions. You can email me at Gerald.Parker@PruRealty.com

Rose,
Also consider Georgetown as a top 10 place. Most schools are fine anywhere near Austin. Your job commute factor should figure high as well. I will be glad tp research for you if you call me. 512 466-6147

Hi Rose,

Round Rock is a great choice. Here is a link to the RRISD that gives some rating info that may be helpful. http://www.roundrockisd.org/index.aspx?page=3380 You will find that most of the schools are rated recognized and exemplary. These ratings are not the authority on good schools but are way that people use to gauge how well a school is doing. I relocated from NYC last year and have found that there are good schools all over the greater Austin area with a lot of nice places to live not limited to Round Rock. Feel free to call me if you have any questions about other places you might want to consider.

Greatschools.net is a good source for ranking elementary schools.

I was interviewed in the Money Magazine article that ranked Round Rock #7 :-)

Call or email if we can help.

Thanks
