Home Buying in 34286>Question Details

Donna, Home Buyer in Plainfield, NJ

I'm from NJ. Is it really possible to purchase a 3br 2bth home in the North Port area with a pool for under $100,000 w/ owner paying closing?

Asked by Donna, Plainfield, NJ Wed Nov 23, 2011

costs? I see plenty of houses on various real estate sites but it just seems unrealistic because some of these homes are very beautiful.

Donna,
Right now there are 7 homes in North Port with 3 bed, 2 bath and a pool under 100k. They range in price from $64,900 to $99,900. The years range from 1979 to 2002. There are 3 bank owned homes, 2 short sales, and 2 normal sales. I recently sold one for $65k built in 1979 in a small deed restricted community called Jockey Club with a community pool, clubhouse, tennis courts, basketball hoop and shuffleboard court. The HOA fees are very low. I also sold another one in North Port for $75k built in 2002. Both of these were short sale pool homes. Port Charlotte has similar pool homes as well.

I would be happy to work with you to help you find a great deal on a home. Feel free to search our web site for listings. Contact me and I can set you up in our system to receive updates on listings avaialble. If I can answer any questions about bank foreclosures or short sales or the area in general, let me know. Our office is located in Port Charlotte one street away from Toledo Blade Blvd in North Port. I know the area very well and used to live in North Port.

Donna,

this is a link to my blog post from a few days ago that has some of the news stories about the North Port to Sarasota area, and the national rankings we received last week.

Hi Donna,

It is possible. Prices have started to move up since the inventory has gone down, but you can still get a nice home under $100k, if you move on it quickly. Now that word is out how affordable our area is, homes tend to get snagged soon after hitting the market.
I can set you up with a search feed directly from the MLS that all of the Realtors use that will let you know immediately when a home hits the market, or if there is a price reduction. Just let me know if that would be of interest to you.
Are you familiar with North Port and SW Florida?
A couple of years ago it seemed like there would be an excess of homes for sale in North Port for years to come, but there is actually very little inventory currently available.

Check out our Facebook page for more information on the market and fun things to do in Southwest Florida.

I also have a few blogs on my Trulia profile that may be of use to you when considering values on homes. That information is pertinent all across the country.
