Jessica, If your Department has a Credit Union I would speak with someone there. In NJ there is a Mortgage Program through the State Pension Fund that offered very low fixed interest rates. There may be a similar program available there. Good Luck!

Hi Jessica,

I am a Police Officer/Mortgage Broker also and there is a program for Nurse/Teacher/Police Officers called MyCommunity additionally check your area also for CRA Communtiy Redevelopment Agency Programs that give additional insentives for Police Officers to Move into Re-Development New Housing Some of these Programs add additional discounts for Police Officers to move into their neighboorhood for obvious reasons. We recently had one here locally where they offered a $25.000.00 discount of the purchase price on a new pre-construction.

FHA is also a program you may want to consider, feel free to email me or call me if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Juan

Fannie Mae has a program and I believe FHA does as well. Just ask your loan officer. It shouldn't be too hard to track down.

I got this information off of the website listed below. It should get you pointed in the right direction

MyCommunityMortgage
MyCommunityMortgage is designed to help you meet the needs of low- and moderate-income home buyers who have limited funds for the down payment and closing costs. Our 26-minute recorded presentation covers product benefits such as low MI and LTVs of up to 97%, as well as the extra flexibilities available to community servants such as police officers, military personnel, firefighters, teachers, and health care workers.

I got there by going to http://www.fanniemae.com

Hope it helps:)

I'm a licensed loan officer in NJ. There is such a program if you are purchasing in the State of NJ. I can't speak for Georgia tho.
