I'm a U.S. Resident currently living abroad and I'd like to buy a house in Florida since now it's a good time to buy. I do have a good credit history.

I'm working for a well stablished multi-national in South America. How can I get a mortgage without working in the US?

One of the lender already on this forum. I bet a few more will be on here too. Call them directly so they can guide you to the right track and get a pre qualification letter so you can start your home search process. Once you get an approval letter from lender, you would need to hire a local agent to assist you with the search. The local agent will need to talk to you to understand your needs so he/she can help you find the right property.

You are correct, it is still a good time to purchase homes in Florida. However, the best time has gone for about 2 years now. There are still lots of good deals out there, but it will depend on the location. Not sure where you want to be in Florida, but make sure you hire an agent in that local market so he/she can provide you a better service. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any question in Metro Orlando market.

Good luck and enjoy the home hunting.

You've definitely started your search in the right place. You're going to come across many Realtors that will offer their services and expertise. Your first step is to get pre-qualified/approved for a loan.
