My wife and I are putting our beatuiful house on the market March 1st. The house was built in 2007 and is 2953 square feet with a unique floor plan. It is located on the east side of town close to Cherry Valley and has county taxes which is around 8%. The house is located in a semi-private neighborhood and minutes from I90.
well-the west side has issues-but churchills grove and edgewater and haight village all are great areas. if you like character-these are great areas.
What is the price range you are looking for and do you need to consider our schools ?

Hi i used to live in rockford, There is many different types of areas here. The West side of rockford is where most crime happens. Hope This helps
Jen,
Call the Police Department. Realtors are required not to answer those kinds of questions. Best thing to do is get in your car and go through there. Make sure you go in the day and at night. After you do that, call me. I will do the loan for you. Good Luck!

The Rock River separates the town into east and west. Smaller older homes are mostly on the west side. Larger and newer homes are generally on the east side of Rockford. East State separates north east from south east. A good way to get the real scoop is to call the police department and ask some very pointed questions about crime rates and areas. I used to live there and as a realtor there were areas i would not go after dark. Having said that, I never locked the door to my house and always felt safe. I lived on the northeast side by the river. There are some very nice communities with great schools in the area. Roscoe, Byron, and Winnebago have great schools. I can give you the name of a great realtor in Rockford who could help you. Call me - 512-721-6236 Carol Pease
Hi Jennifer,
State and Federal Law do not allow real estate licensee's to give opinions on areas Buyers should or should not flock to. They like to call it steering and discriminating.
That being said, please let me offer the same advice I offer my Buyers:
1. Drive through the area/neighborhood you are interested in at different times such as morning, afternoon, evening, weekdays and weekends.
2. Call the local city/village hall for community information.
3. Contact the local police department for area statistics about crime or lack thereof.
4. Google demographics for the city/village you are interested in. We can provide demographics for our Commercial customers, but not Residential customers.
Since you live in Missouri and may not have the time/flexibility to drive through the actual neighborhoods/areas, ask someone you may know locally such as a relative, friend or co-worker in the case of a job transfer.
I hope this helps you Jennifer - Good luck in your search!
P.S.: I do have experience in Winnebago & Boone Counties, so if you like, please contact me at Capi Realty Group.
Sincerely,
Kimmy Martinez
