I have been told by my agent that Chase Bank made a counter and they only do verbals is this true?

Don't you hate it when that happens?
They are not as helpful as would seem best for all concerned.

But, they do have regulations to comply with, and one is that they have to try and get the most for the property.
By not signing an agreement, there is still the opportunity for another offer to be accepted.
They usually wait until the very last minute to ink anything.

that is normally the case just like signing docs with banks on short sales and foreclosed properties, at least you heard back with a counter so good luck, let us know how it turns out

It is typical that banks will only do verbal counter offers on short sales and REO's. If you waited for written counters it would take forever!!

It should not matter where you are buying. Banks are banks.

Every bank is different, but that is not uncommon. You will typically have 24 hours to respond.
