I didn't own a home in the last 3yrs but my husband did it so says I do not qualify. What if I am now divorce?

good morning sarah...in the state of michigan...if your husband ownes a home and purchased it prior to your marriage to him, you still have an interest in the home because of the michigan dower rights law.......he can either quit-claim-deed you on to the home with him, or walk down the aisle and marry you.....either way, you were a homeowner if you are now divorced or not....i hope that helps.......bob mcclure- success mortgage partners- plymouth, michigan........

Your loan officer would be able to qualify this further. I suggest giving them all the facts. Remember, it could be considered fraud if you use incorrect information to obtain a mortgage or a tax credit.
