I'd like to buy a single family home/condo within biking distance/busline with strong resale value/good school
districts. Names of subdivisions would be much appreciated.

It is difficult to answer this question without knowing your price range and how much square footage you need. Small condos in Chapel Hill range in price from the 150's up to $1million+. I just spent the day with a UNC resident looking at everything in Chapel Hill under 250,000. Most of what we saw was around 1500sf. There are active nice condo listings in Summerfield Crossing, Booker Creek, Kirkwood, Erwin Village, and there was a sprinkling of detached homes in that same range. Please contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Dave, I should mention that if easy to UNC is what you were looking for, Southern Village has park and ride free service, close to bike to UNC and public schools right there.

Dave, I am not sure if you meant biking to UNC or the schools for your kids, but here are some neighborhoods that seem to have the kind of homes you are looking for:
Berryhill, Cates Farm, Briarcliff, Cobblestone, Cobble Ridge, Lake Forest and Forest Creek, Estes Hills, Lake Hogan farms and southern Village (especially if you would like a community pool!),, Parkside and Northwoods, Bolin Forest, and if you are interested in newer townhome, Vineyard square. Some of these are close to schools for kids and some to UNC, I can help you sort this. I know that is a lot to choose from and there really is more! I just was not sure what other features were important to you, age of home, shopping, lot size etc... I will be happy to help you narrow it down a bit more if you have more details you can give. I hope this was at least a good starting place and helpful to you. Thanks, Laura Tue Apr 8 2008, 15:20 Web Reference: http://www.LGRealtor.com
