Joe. You should check your facts. There has been a security guard on site for years. I have owned a unit for almost 20 years and there have been very few problems. It is a quiet complex. You have one instance of something happening and you generalize to the whole complex. Maybe you don't want someone to buy in this complex because you have one for sale in another one nearby.
The area is pretty safe, but Villa Lorena has had a history of car break-ins, and a client of mine who I sold a condo to there, had her car stolen. The problem is that Villa Lorena, unlike other complexes in the area has refused to adopt basic safety measures that protect people and property. The two easiest fixes are adding a network of monitored security cameras, and a roving nighttime security patrol. Hopefully they adopt these measures.

Hi Gizmo,
You can check with the LAPD for crime statistics, but the best thing would be to talk to some of the neighbors in the complex. It seems to be a nice complex and well maintained...check out these links for crime stats, and call the senior lead officer for the area...

18307 Burbank Blvd. is a pretty safe area. Mostly security buildings and a lot of traffic.
