VA eligibility extends to the widow, but not to other family members. As your ward, he might eligible with his income to get a loan, but it would be for a residence for him.

It doesn't seem likely you will be able to utilize his eligibility for anything at this point.

You should investigate your own ability to qualify for a loan of your own.

Avery4real,

If you are looking for special mortgage assistance programs, please check out my website at http://BrianRayl.com and look at the Mortgage Program tabs. There may be some assistance that you can benefit from that you don't know about.

As far as using your father's VA loan, it probably is not possible. HIS name and his name alone would have to be on the loan and the title of the home. Technically, if you have power of attorney you can make this happen, but HE would be buying the home and his income and debt, etc would have to qualify.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

It's more than real estate. It's RAYL-Estate!

Probably not....unless you yourself are eligible.

There are some other great loan programs available though that might even be better.

We just need to get you with a loan officer to check.
