I am supposed to close Monday the 29th but Lender just finished approving the paper work. we now have only

Friday to submit the paper work to the seller's atty. Is there any way to escape the 1 day penality if the closing doesn't happen on Monday? or how soon was it supposed to be sumbitted?

Thank you Meloduy and Stephanie for your answer. Indeed, My agent filled out a 1 day extension and I closed Tuesday instead of Monday. They tried to charge me $100 and I contested and they removed it.

this is typical here - many times the attorney doesn't receive the package until day of closing. Shouldn't be a problem if the attorney already had the closing on his schedule.

FIRST ANSWER

you shouldn't have any problem if it was not on your account. if it was paperwork or a slacker in the office, who knows, no one will take the blame but, if they are going to charge you they will have to have proof that you were the cause of the hold up. I doubt one day will be an issue, but to save your self be sure your agent fills out an addendum asking for 1 or 2 day extension with no penelty. very doable. don't worry it all works out. But If you really are nervous, make sure that addendum gets sent first thing in the a.m. just in case. This does not mean you have to wait that long, it will say 2 days or sooner.
