Shane you can always have your lender check with the RD office just to be sure. A good lender should also have the answer for you.

The mold didn't look wide spread and the information I had was off the HUD information sheet (it is a HUD house) it appeared that the previous owners had a small leak behind the washing machine creating the moisure issue.
Thank you for the information. I will try to get some information from someone who knows mold before I make my offer.

If this is a USDA RD loan, typically the USDA inspection does not include mold testing. I'd be surprised if the presence of mold disqualifies the home. Have you had the mold tested, and if so , what kind of 'treatment' has been done? If the seller has any lab tests, I'd ask to see them. The issue as a homebuyer should be: 1) is it safe to live in this home and 2) What is the moisture issue that allows for mold to grow. As a homebuyer I would want that addressed. Best of luck with you, Shane, on your new purchase!
