I am planning to buy a townhouse in North Brunswick. So far I have looked at Renaissance, Governor's Point,

North Oaks and Society Hill. What are the factors that affect resale values of houses (especially townhouses in North Brunswick). If I am planning to sell the house after five years, does the location/community/price of the townhome I buy matter at all? Please advise...

I wish we had the crystal ball that you want us to look at to give you an answer.

But, Governors Point and Renaissance ( although different in many ways) have held value a better over North Oaks and Society Hill. All of these developments are centrally located with different amenities in each.

Just as you are lookng at developments, Think about the buyer in the future and the development that you purchase.. yes it does matter.

Thanks Mia, I would appreciate if you could elaborate on how to choose between the communities I have already listed. I don't have any kids yet, so I am not so concerned about the school system personally. The school system will be the same for the entire North Brunswick area, so which co-op is better in terms of resale prospects.

Yes all those factors make a difference, the school system counts, access to transportation and highways, and also at what price you get the unit everything counts. This is a great market to find some good deals.
