In the mean time, while you are working on your credit you two can both save money towards your downpayment as well, killing two birds with one stone. Remember, anything worth having, is worth working for.

Also, talk to a lender and find out what your husband's credit score is, and what he needs to do to increase it. It could be as simple as paying down some of his debt.
