They have a fantastic Charter School in Teaneck that I'm familiar with. I'm an advocate for Charter Schools and their emphasis on education. I'm also the a Board member at the Englewood Palisades Charter School in adjacent Englewood, NJ. Here's a link for you regarding charter schools. http://goo.gl/Ap9YB2

If you are buying in New Jersey contact Clifton Savings Bank, they do NOT have a minimum credit score. They put more weight on your income & job. Also they keep ALL the Loans.

For more info call Francisco Mayol, Mortgage Originator, 1-917-547-9298, NMLS #780734

I work with a lot of people who have less than perfect credit. I tell all my clients that need a pre approval to visit The Lenders Network, I have seen loan approvals from them even with scores under a 620 for FHA and even VA loans. So if anyone can get your loan approved they can!!

Good luck!

I live in Teaneck, and my two boys attend Thomas Jefferson Middle School. One is highly gifted, and the other has special needs. They have attended school in a total of 3 towns since starting school. Teaneck is absolutely superior to their prior experiences, and both of their needs are being satisfied fully here.

If you are considering moving here, check out Russo Real Estate. Robert and his family are a town institution. (of course consider me for your home financing too!!!)

Best of luck!

Teaneck schools, and all public schools in New Jersey, are scored on a variety of indices called the School Report Card. You can view it here - http://education.state.nj.us/rc/
Good luck!

HI there, I am a longtime Teaneck realtor, and also a Teaneck resident of 29 years who has both educated four children in the public school system as well as served on the Teaneck Board of Education for 12 years. I can state unequivocally that Teaneck has a fine school system with many opportunities for children of all learning styles, terrific elementary and middle schools, the resources in classroom computers and learning materials, a top-quality staff many of whom have masters degrees and years of teaching experience, renovated school buildings and classrooms, an excellent college-prep high school curriculum and a strong record of sending 84%-92% of high school graduates onto further education. Do all the graduates go on to 4-year colleges? No, but their choices are dependent on factors such as achievement, family support, socio-economic backgrounds, and carer direction. I celebrate the 20% of our graduates that go on to community colleges or trade schools or the military each year just as strongly as I celebrate the rest who head to many four-year colleges around the country.

Mr. Waller is right, there is also a fine Charter School in the community, as well as some private and parochial options in the area. I however am a strong believer in public education, and my children are among the proud products of the Teaneck Public Schools. Don't judge public schools solely on internet data or test scores, but do more substantive investigation by visiting Teaneck schools themselves and asking for names of public school parents to call. Check out http://www.teaneckschools.org, and come visit the Board of Education at 1 Merrison Street to get more information.

I recommend going to a website that is able to rank schools. You can try greatschools.org. I also would be happy to help you in your search for a new home.
