I am looking to sell my home in New Freedom and would like to find a Realtor that would be willing to sell my home at a 5% fee.Is this unreasonable?

Mommyof2,
The commission is always negotiable; however, I must agree with the replies you've received so far. Interviews are key. Find out what the agent is offering you and how they will market your property. Are they willing to work for you or just earn a check? How well do they know the area?
These are just some questions for you to ask during your interviewing process. Good luck!

I would recommend you focus on finding an agent that will get your home in front of the most buyers. Put yourself in a position to get the best offers.

The one or two percent you save can be made up by a more attractive offer. All because your home was put in front of my buyers.

If you do not already have one I highly recommend you interview at least 2 or 3 Realtors and create a selling strategy that will net you the most for your home.

At the end of the day, it is all about how your home compares to the others and what the “market” is willing to pay.

I have some contacts in that area, please let me know if you would like names.

Sincerely,

“Daddy of 3”

I wouldn't say this unreasonable but I would focus more on the value of your investment in a REaltor and the brokarage they represent. At the end of the day it is how fast and for how much your house sells for that should be your largest concern.

There are absolutely qualified agents willing to work for 5% but while you are interviewing agents I recommend you choose an agent most interested in what's best for you.

Good Luck!!

Why 5%? Do not get stuck on a number, find out what you are getting for the commission - you may be getting a sign in your yard and a listing on the MLS - period. We agents are all very different and get different commissions - there could be a reason for that.
