Have a place on Kerr Lake for sale currently. Its with a Realtor. Century 21 on the Lake - Faye Guin.

Pictures and more info available on her website. Waterfront in a cove. No Corp land, we own out into the middle of the cove. Has a boat dock and own private boat ramp on lot. Single wide trailer has two bedrooms, permanent stationary camper that sleeps six with deck also on property. Has a permanent 2 bay covered shed with utility room on back.
Feel free to contact Faye Guin if interested.

The very first thing that you should do is contact a REALTOR that has the ABR designation(Accredited Buyers Represenative). That is a REALTOR like me that specializes in representing Buyers. Now is a Great Time to buy and what's even better, I represent Buyers at NO COST to the Buyer. You can visit my websites http://www.JuliousEvans.com for virtual tours of Homes in the area,or visit my brand new website http://www.jevans1.remax.com and search for properties anywhere in the State of Virginia.

Now is the time, two lake homes sold last week, one with miltiple offers and I have one more lake house with multiple offers being negotiated now. We have been seeing the listing prices go down and the market is starting to react to the good deals.
Kerr Lake is unlike any lake I have ever been around, it just does not ever get crowded, with 800 miles of shore line you never see over a few boats in the water. It is the best.

There are MANY lake houses FOR SALE on Buggs Island / Kerr Lake, and NOW is a GREAT TIME to buy! This question just popped up on my TRULIA, but appears to be dated. Our WEBSITE shows ALL listings, and we would love to help you find the right vacation home. In fact we had an office caravan to two new listings on Tuesday morning. I have developed a great business in the Smith Mountain Lake area in southwest Virginia. Great lake! I don't know anything about Kerr Lake or Gaston Lake. I would check on their shoreline management plan. That could effect your dock or future dock plans. They are typically non-negotiable once in place. This may not affect you at all, so don't be alarmed! I'm not sure if this affects you. If it is a remote possibility, I would get everything in writing and have full understanding of the plan before I closed on the property.

Otherwise, I wish you happy and safe boating while building memories w/ your loved ones.

All the best,

Rob

I am a real estate appraiser; my fiance is a realtor. Kerr Lake and Lake Gaston are both beautiful areas; it was traditionally thought that Lake Gaston was a much more expensive area and for a while it was. However lately Lake Gaston prices are starting to come down some and are therefore in line with Kerr Lakes prices which seem to be accelerating. The main difference is that Kerr Lake water levels tend to fluctuate more; if you're back in a cove and there's a drought, you may not have wateraccess. Lake Gaston is much more regulated, thus values tend to hold a little better. However after skyrocketing prices on Gaston in the last three years, more people looked towards Kerr Lake and pushed up those prices. My mother-in-law has a home on Kerr Lake. Beautiful area. She lives in Ponderosa, about 15 minutes outside of "downtown" Clarksville, but still on the water.
