5th and Shunk is JUST OK. It's on the border. If you walk north of SHUnk toward Ritner, it's not that great. You should try to be closer to Broad St. I think after 9th street. It's much better. I grew up in SOuth Philly and just bought a house arounf 10th and shunk...

my girlfriend lived on 2nd n shunk and i never had any problems.. shunk st. all the way down to broad st. is safe i'll see cadillacs parked.. I have a BMW and parked it on shunk all the time and nobody ever messed with it. You'll be fine
