daughter who will be attending college at SIUE. I would like to buy somethiing incredibly reasonable., maybe a foreclosure. She would be willing to drive up to 20 iles to school. When looking at the trulia website there were several very cheap properties in Granite City. Is this area safe for a young girl?

There are parts of Granite City that are O.K.,but the safer towns are Edwardsville,Maryville and Troy .Your concern is not only is it safe but how hard will it be to sell once she is finished with school.I can help you if you like,I am a seasoned agent and know the area...Thanks Shirley Plunk 618-920-6178

Hi Alison,

As a local agent, I'd be happy to discuss Edwardsville and the surrounding communities with you. There are certain areas that I think might be a good fit for a college student. Purchasing housing instead of paying for dorm living has become very popular in Edwardsville. In fact, just this last summer I sold a home in Glen Carbon that was used by two sisters attending SIUE. Feel free to send me an e-mail and we can talk more about the area and your needs.
