$200-250k. I am somewhat familiar with the area and I am looking for soemthign that is not located very near the train tracks in Haymarket, nor within earshot fo the traffic along 66. I work along Heathcote Blvd in Gainesville, and I knwo there are some homes available off this road. What are your opinions on what is available and the best way to find a great property in my price range? Thanks.
Hi Jen:
How are you doing?
So you want something around Gainesville, minus the hustle and bustle. (Good luck:)
No really, why are you looking for a townhouse?
Have you thought about a detached single family home?
Now, I am talking about a "mature" home, with land but may need some work? Like a raised rambler or split level, where you can plant flowers, and get in touch with your feelings.
I say that, because most condo's and townhouse's aren't going to be located in the most "quiet" communities. (Not that there is anything wrong with that), but it sounds like you are looking for 2 different things. One convience, but also a little space.
Bear in mind, that there are not too many homes in the area like this that will fit your price range, but I have sold houses in Lakeview Estates in Gainesville, and Baldwin Ridge in Warrenton that may be of interest.
There won't be many that fit your criteria in this price range, and they will need work, but it could be worth it for that "peace and quiet" that you're looking for.
Hope this helps,
Johnny "Culdesac" Yankoviak
Hello Jen:
I live in Greenhill Crossing, right off of Rt. 55 and my husband and I use to own a store off of heathcoat accross from Heritage Hunt called Tee Off Wireless. (I am very familiar with the area). Your best bet in the market that we are currently in, with multiple offers being submitted on any home that pops up under $250K, is to get regular updates on all homes that come up in the area, the day they come up, check them out ASAP to see if they fit what you are looking for. If you would like me to send you regular updates of homes in your criteria, please let me know-- 571-436-6000
Jen - I work this area and actually grew up on Bull Run Mountain (in Haymarket - Rt 15 to Log Mill Road), and my dad lived just outside of Catharpin (of 234). I'd love to help you. Please contact me directly. In the mean time, you are welcome to use the Home Search section of my web site to assist you (see home page). Hope to talk with you soon!
Hi Jen, You already have some great advice here. FYI, I sold one of thoe condos off of Heathcote earlier this year. The prices are even lower, however, the condo/hoa fees are pretty high. I would suggest meeting with a Realtor, looking through the MLS listings and cruising the neighborhoods to see what you like the most. You can use the link below to search for homes.
Jen-the best way to find the right home for you is to work with a buyers agent who will work through your list of questions, provide you guidance through the search process and keep your protected when you present an offer. This is the best way to find and buy a new home.
If you work positively with a real estate agent I am assured solutions to all of your questions could be resolved. http://www.lynn911.com http://www.homes-for-sale-dallas.com
A REALTOR acting as your agent is paid a commission by the SELLER (via a listing agreement). You pay nothing and save nothing by using the listing agent (you may even pay more by using the agent that's trying to get the highest possible price!). When you have your own personal representation you, A) have professional representation, B) someone looking after your best interests and, C) someone that has access to every listing available. You save nothing other than time and problems by hiring an agent.
