The Teacher Next Door program offers an opportunity for both the teacher and the neighborhood. The neighborhood gains an educated committed individual and in return, the teacher gets a "discount" on a HUD home in the area that they teach.
It is important to look at what your level of commmittment is to the current schools since the Teacher has to live in that home for 36 months. You have to be a full time teacher from K-12.
