I live in Lake County Florida and there are many areas here that are suitable for horses. Lake County is one hour north of Orlando and is convenient to Ocala, Daytona, Orlando and is about 2 hours from Tampa.

HI David, As mentioned before there are a few areas I would recommend for such a property in SW Florida. The first one would be in North Fort Myers, specially around Nalle Grande and Slater which has some gorgeous properties which are suitable for horses. The second one would be around Buckingham, however the best and most attractive deals I have found so far were in North Fort Myers.There are a few other areas of interest.
Below is a link of such homes within your criteria as far as acreage,suitable for horses, size of the home and age. Its a great area of SW Florida and once you take I-75 its very close to the center of Fort Myers.

I don't actively sell real estate, I am an appraiser. The answers here are all Realtors who can help you find properties by searching their MLS. It is harder on web sites for a consumer to pull specialty properties. The Realtors can show you not just their listings but any others listed. As an appraiser, I am seeing outstanding buys for acreage parcels in North Ft. Myers. The price per acres is very attractive there. Also Buckingham and Alva offer good value for a nice property. As you can see here, you would have a good selection all over the area. Further inland in Labelle or Clewiston also have low prices, however North Ft. Myers or Buckinham are closer other amenities attractive to many buyers.

There are many properties (farms) in the Sarasota area, east of I75, that are newer, with lots of acreage. That fit your size requirements. Even though I don't live there any more, I still have a lot of real estate connections in that area.

Looking at your zip you seem to be located in Huntsville, Alabama. Why do you want to be in South w Florida? , I will recommend to look into Summerfield, FL right next to Ocala and very close to The Villages, The winters are cool and the prices are modest compared to South West Florida area. I have personal friends that are Realtors that would be happy to show you around. I own a 3 acre home with a horse stable and a 5/2 and love to spend timein the farm. There are many beautiful horse farms in the Sarasota area. If you are interested in Sarasota (that's where I lived before moving to Miami) I can refer you to a real estate agent there.

How about property 45 minutes from the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers instead?
