I have been searching and searching online for properties in the western north carolina area all the way up to Hickory. Where is the best place to find properties like this? OR, how can I find out if there are any owners willing to do this option?
Thank you! I appreciate any help. I have been searching since last October with no luck so far.
Hi Courtney,
I need your email to send you the listings from my MLS.
Bonnie Tamrack, Keller Williams Realty, 828-234-8775
Hi Courtney,
I know of a beautiful older home in NW HIckory, recently remodeled and very striking, rather like a Pottery Barn look. And the yard is spectacular! It is very close to Hwy 321 and I-40. Rent is $750 and purchase price is $115,000. I would buy it myself if I didn't already have a house!
I will search the Multiple Listing Service for the area I cover and send you what I find, in a separate email. Look for an email from me, Bonnie Tamrack, Keller Williams Realty (3rd largest company in North America). 828-234-8775

Courtney,
I am a Realtor® in western North Carolina, and I'd be glad to help you. The main areas that I serve are Caldwell & Catawba Counties, and parts of Burke County [the Hickory-Morganton-Lenoir area]. If you'll email or call me at (828) 430-1936, I can see what I can find listed on the area MLS. Also, there is a local classified called the IWANNA paper [linked below] which may have what you are looking for being advertised for sale by owner.
Courtney,
They are out there and while I am not in WNC I use to live in Hickory and at one time Asheville. You need to decide on an area and let a local realtor find them for you. I just placed a client in a lease/purchase in new construction. It takes some digging sometimes and actually alot of emails. Your agent should start looking at the homes you are interested in that have been on the market for some time. Ask the listing agents to inquire of the sellers. Now you will have to have a decent payment for the option money and also have a reasonable time frame of when you will be able to finance and buy the home. You should negotiate that a percentage of your lease payment go towards your purchase price also. So chose an area whether it be Morganton, Asheville or Hickory. Or you can look in all but, I would think you need to look at where you want to be.
Hope this helps.
