It will take some digging but the opportunities may exist A quick search of $450K homes at http://www.400kHomes.com shows plenty of North OC homes in that price range. When you say rural, you probably will have to look more in the hills. The Carbon Canyon area of Chino Hills is 5 minutes from Yorba Linda and a very rural, desireable area to live.

You can search 400kHomes yourself and save your own search to find new rural homes in that price range as soon as they hit the market. I would also be happy to do a detailed search for you. Just let me know.
