yes this is common in some Condo complexes, not all. As there is limited space within the unit, a lot of the Condo complexes have no washer/dryer inside the unit.
If it is VERY important to you, ask your Realtor, if you are working with one, to search for you with that in mind.

There is a complex called St Francis at 280 Easy St in Mountain View. Some of these condos have washer/dryer units installed with the HOA permission, although getting permission now is a little trickier. You can ususally get permission to install a European all in one unit that is the same size as a dishwasher and fits under the kitchen counter. I have a client who did that. It hooks up to the sink and does not need a vent to the outside so it takes a ehile to do a load but does not require a complicated installation. Having an inside washer/dryer is a real plus for renters or buyers. Let me know if you have nay questions about this.

There is a condo on Crestview that is $250K. Its a nice location, needs some cleaning and paint. This is the best option for you.
