1. Make sure that your Agent is a REALTOR(R) and affiliated with the local association
2. The agent is local and can answer questions regarding the area
3.Check their recomendations and reviews on Trulia and other Real Estate Sites

Hello Isabel,

I am a local realtor here in Mountain House.
I am also a resident.

Mountain House is my main area of expertise.
I work other areas as well, but 99% of the business I do stays right here in Mountain House.
There arent many short sales or foreclosures on the market, but If one were to come I would be more than happy to send the info your way.
You can reply with your email address and I can send the info there.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, or if you need some assistance.

Hello Isabel,

I would love to help! Feel free to learn more about me by reading my recommendations and work history in my profile. Feel free to call or text me @ 209-814-0119... You may also go directly to my website @ http://www.realtorbrooks.com as well. Most importantly, you will need a good lender to get you pre-approval done as well and I have provided the directions for that below...

Your first step would be obtaining your pre-approval with a good local lender! My preferred lender is Amy Costa with Imortgage in Tracy. Simply follow the instructions below to begin your pre-approval process & have a Sensational Sunday! Your friend & Realtor, Henry Brooks 209-814-0119

1. Completed online application at http://www.imortgage.com/amy.costa (Click on Apply for a Mortgage and use TBD for a property address)

2. 2010 & 2011 Federal Income Tax Returns & W2’s

3. One month’s pay stubs

4. One month’s bank statements

5. Copy of Drivers License

You can fax or email these items directly to me. Once I have everything, I can have the pre-approval and a written estimate prepared for you within 1 business day.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Brittany. We look forward to working with you!

Hi Isabel,

I suggest you interview a few agents or brokers. Before your interview, you might want to have your questions prepared.

Examples of questions:
1.) How long before you return my phone call, text, or email?
2.) How will you search for my new home?
3.) How will your "area expertise" give me an advantage over other buyers?
4.) How do you handle multiple offers?
5.) Will you be able to refer me home inspectors, title companies, and mortgage brokers if I need referrals?
6.) Ask for references. When calling references, ask what they liked or didn't like about working with the agent.

Also you can go DRE.gov, specifically http://www2.dre.ca.gov/PublicASP/pplinfo.asp to check on the agent 's or broker's license to make sure that there are no complaints against him/her.

If you find an agent on this forum you like, I suggest you check the agent's previous responses to get a sense of how he/she responds to buyers' or sellers' questions. It's a good first or second step.

Ultimately, your agent should know how to listen to you, how to communicate best with you, how to counsel you, and most importantly, how to ask the right questions to better serve you. Good luck and happy hunting!

I hope this has been helpful!

Hi Isabel,

I'm sure there will be several Realtors chiming in soon. If not or if you would like a recommendation, while not in the immediate area, I can give you several names of local Tracy/Mountain House Realtors I've worked with in the past. Let me know of I can be of assistance.

Best of luck,
