I went to look at the model but was told there was currently no model built for this series because it is new to the stonewater collection. I know that they have sold a number of these new homes though. Any suggestions on how or where I could see a finished product. Need to know more about the reputation of Lennar homes.
Hey, First Time Homebuyer, if you talked with an Agent at Lennar I'm surprised they didn't tell you other areas with the several Bali Patio homes have been built. You may have already done this, but you can see each of the models floor plans at http://www.lennar.com/New-Homes/North-Carolina/Raleigh/Stone
I know seeing in person is much better. I had this same issue recently and the closest model available was in Virginia and they were willing to credit the cost of my trip if I bought one of their homes.
Also, as a 1st time home buyer remember you have a $8,000 tax credit available to you if you close on a house before 12/1/09. This means you get a check in the mail for $8,000.
There is also a great book "Your First Home" that walks you through the home buying process. I'd be glad to give you a free copy.
Best of luck with your home search,
Shelia
Hello,
I believe that they'll be in the sheet rock stage sometime in the next couple of weeks. Your best bet is to have your agent find out if there is a completed/sold model that they can possibly show you. Often with properties already under contract you may be allowed to go and see them.
Lennar is a good builder with 55 years of industry experience. They've done a nice job with numerous communities in the Triangle. This one is ideally located close to 540/64/40, shopping, restaurants and hospitals.
The community is offering mainteance free living. All the homeowners have to do is water there own lawn. The HOA takes care of the landscaping. The fee is $110 per month and includes a pool. They're currently offering 7K if you use the builder's lender. The lots range from .10-.15 acres.

Hi
We could find the model you like in another neighborhood, and see if the current owner would be willing to let you have a look at it, I have done this before, you will probably be more successful if you let your Buyers Agent arrange that for you. Lennar Homes has a very good reputation, it is not a bad idea to ask neighbors if they have had any issues, obviously I would take it all in and make your own assesment, as some people seem to complain no matter what.

Lennar is a great builder and I'd be happy to do some research for you on "spec" homes similar to the plan you like. Keep in mind, it may be built in another city in North Carolina. If its a brand new collection for the company, you may just have to wait until one is built. There are ways that you can choose a home, and negotiate in an "escape clause" if the home isn't to your liking at the framing stage. I've done this a few times over the years.
Lennar builds a solid home with many upgrades included. Overall, I feel their pricing is fair for what they offer and the homes they build in our area.
If you're a first time buyer, I would strongly suggest you interview a few buyers agents. It's smart to have someone working on your side. I've helped many buyers weight the options of upgrades vs. resale potential. Silly things like wiring, flooring, cabinet and color choices will make or break you down the road when you sell! Every choice you make matters to your bottom line!
The on site agent works for the builder, you need someone working and negotiating for you.
