empty, looked up the place and Sheriffs sale was in 11/2007. Do I need to wait for the house to list (can't locate the owner) or can the bank speed up the redemption period so I can buy it?

Maureen is probably on the right track Diane.

It is very possible that there are some legal or other issues preventing it from being made available for sale.

I work Shiawassee County and could assist you in finding the owner or find out which bank may own the property as well as help you prepare an offer to whoever that owner is.

My contact info is available on my Trulia profile.

Find out who the bank is. They might consider an offer before it is listed. A local Realtor can probably assist you with this.

The house could be tied up with legal issues. That might be one reason it is not listed yet.
