If I had a client ask me such a question, I would suggest it is too close. The mere fact you asked the question says there is a problem. Home values are important and when you go to sell buyers will be asking that too.

Good luck...

This is a very common question...What is the crime like in a neighborhood? In Pasadena, in particular, it is helpful to know that the crime maps that we see on various sites on the web aren't helpful at all. That is because Pasadena P.D. is not one of the departments that pay for the service that uploads their data and makes it available to the popular online statistic programs. Actually Pasadena PD does and excellent job - no slam here - the budget is just prioritized differently.

Something you should know - if you call the Pasadena Community Services Section of the Police Department, they are very happy to share crime info in any particular neighborhood. I say, when looking for good data - go to the source!

Happy Shopping!

Great info, thank you for posting this. It's very frustrating trying to find this info on real estate websites. Some have tabs (internal links) that will tell you the crime stats in the area of the specific address you're looking at. The problem is, that ALL results for ALL addresses show zero crime. Glitch in their ow software or intentionally misleading - they give false sense of security if you look no further. Again, thank you for the tip of contacting the Pasadena Community Services Section of the PD. :D

Hi - You need to look block by block to identify the decent neighbrohoods. If too near to King's Manor, walk away. While it has improveed over the years, there's still too much drug and gang activity in the area, especially just south of Washington and west of Fair Oaks.

I sold all the townhomes at Fair Oaks Summit at 1701 Fair Oaks, so I know the area well. I specialize in Pasadena and Altadena.

What is your price range? There's plenty of properties in good neighborhoods in NW Pasadena.

Hi Precious,

Your best bet on finding out about crime activity in the area would be to go directly to the source, to the Pasadena Police Department. Here is a link to their website: http://cityofpasadena.net/Police/

Here is an interesting site showing crime statistics as well: http://spotcrime.com/ca/pasadena

Hope this info is helpful. Email me if you have any questions or if I can be of any assistance.

Have a nice evening!

Hello: Thanks for your question. Can you tell me which street you have identified? This makes a huge difference because there is quite a variety of housing types /styles. Some of those specific areas will appeal to some people and not to others. The zip code that you have identified is very large as is the 91104 zip code.

You may alway a obtain a crime report in an area by the local law enforcement., and/or you can always ask a peace officer who protols the area for their advice. We have had several clients in the past obtain such information, which help them much to make there decesion.
