completing Property Disclosure Form. House was recently renovated. Home inspection did not find any indications of mold, but inspection took place before I learned the following: House was vacant all this passed winter. heat was turned off, pipes burst. Icicles formed below windows, upstairs and down! This probably explains all the renovations. I have requested info from seller re: what work was performed after damage, as well as whether insurance claim filed, but seller not likely to provide this (has been difficult to deal with during contract negotiations). House has been closed up tight for months without proper ventilation. I'm concerned about mold risk. Home inspector says no way to know for sure.
What is seller's obligation?
The seller has an obligation to disclose latent defects to a buyers but it will be hard to prove that he knew about mold especially since the house is vacant. If you have any reservations even after the mold inspection, walk away.

May I suggest having a mold inspection done and hire an engineer to look at it, or walk away from this one?
