Not quite sure how Realty Trac works but I can tell you Key West has been a sound investment for a lot of people over the years, especially if you buy now while prices and interest rates are so low.

Only way determine your short and long term goals probably best work with consultant. Buying decisions and areas based on what you can afford then narrow field from that point.

There are any number of places that would qualify as good places to investigate for investment potential with little capital with which to work. Some Florida locations that have been hit hard by recent real estate difficulties may include Orlando, Cape Coral, Miami, North Port, Port Charlotte.

These locations are consistantly reporting condo and home sales in the sub $100,000 price range.

Great question! Realty Trac is a good place to look for properties that are going to be short sales or foreclosures (ie. future Real Estate Owned) listings. So how do you get that property on Realty Trac that you saw? Contact a Realtor who specializes in Short Sales and REO's. We at Crocker Wagner & Associates do just that. You also stated you are from Canada. Are you paying cash? If so, great!
