might purchase, I am hoping someone will be able to give me an idea on what the average utility bills on a three bedroom, 3 pabh home with a pool and a spa. Average winter and average summer cost estimates will be greatly appreciated.

Heating the pool and spa can run up the bill, we average 350.00 to 450.00 in the summer just heating the spa only and about half of that for the rest of the year.

Hi Jack- Another consideration when it comes to utilities & purchasing a home in Palm Springs, is the age of the home. Palm Springs is famous for our wonderful Mid-Century modern homes, built in the 1950s and 1960s. These homes were initiallly built as second homes to be enjoyed in the winters- so they aren't well insulated compared to newer construction. Thus, your utility bills can be higher on a vintage home. However, some mid-century homes have been updated and renovated, including new windows, insulation and foam roofs, that will improve your utility costs savings. Additionally, newer-built pools will be a lot more efficient energy wise, then older ones.

Feel free to contact me if I can answer any additional questions.

Hi Jack,

Depends on your personal usage; Will you have the pool heated throughout the winter? Will you be using the jacuzzi a lot throughout the year? Depending on the square footage, you might have 2 units for various parts of the house (which is a good thing). On average you will spend approximately $300-$400 during the summer and approximately $150 and less during the season. Also, it depends where you live; Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Bermuda Dunes is with Edison and La Quinta, Indio and beyond is with Imperial, which is about 1/3 less expensive as Edison. Hope that helps!
