One of my co-workers lives in Eagle Ridge and she loves it. Some units have a fantastic view from NYC and the indoor pool is one of the great amenities that Eagle Ridge has to offer. Good luck in your search,
I was an original owner back in the late 80's coming from NY City. I lived there for several years and then rented it for many years there after. I loved the community then and I love it still now! I continue to be an active agent in the development. The space is great, 4 different model style homes , some with basements, some not. Lots of closets and good size rooms and baths. It's a pretty place with some townhouses have a beautiful view of NYC along the ridge. I made so many wonderful friends , a few still living there and others living in neighboring towns. We still get together, calling the group the "Eagle Ridge group". You can be as social or not there. There are so many ammenities as stated in the other posts and a monthly newsletter to owners with monthly activities for all. The ammenities are second to none as far as I am concerned and greatly improved since I was living there. So if you want the security of a gatehouse, large gym, the indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, basketball, racquetball , beautifully maintained grounds, it is worth the price of the maintainance fee. Oh did I mention, the current prices. The prices are lower than when I bought in the late 80's. So my opinion, get in now before the prices go up. You'll love living there.
I would also double check the maintainance, as the new clubhouse renovation which the owner's have been paying for the past 5 years just ended so each homeowner's maintainance is now lower. I would check that the listed charge on the listings you are looking at reflect the reduction.
Good Luck and if you would like to discuss with me further, please call or email me. It would be my pleasure.
bus steps away access to 280 . If you would care to speak I can be reached at 201-709-5975
I wish you all the best!
This is a great place to live.
All is here; gated community, comfortable surroundings, in-door/out-door pools, tennis courts, gym, pet friendly, shopping across the street, public transportation to Manhattan at the corner, access to all major roadways east, west, north, and south, etc. I mean one cannot go wrong.
I know that complex well, from the time it was first built!
My good friend lives there and loves the amenities it offers - clubhouse with indoor pool, gym, meeting room, etc - not to mention the outdoor pool, playground and tennis.
The convenience of having the bus to NY at the gated entrance is another attraction.
Close to Rt 280 - easy drive to the city - close to a number of shops and malls - and even the "Dine In " AMC movie theater across the street make for a very convenient location.
The only "gulp" most people have to accept are the maintenance fees which are on the high side - but it costs a lot to maintain that updated clubhouse......taxes in W Orange are a consideration, too - but the same could be said for some other Essex County towns.........so it's a personal decision.
My friend loves it here - she was renting, and decided to buy several years ago (I sold her a Charlton unit)........Eagle Ridge was where she wanted to stay!
Best wishes......please let me know if I can be of further help..... or if you have any additional questions about Eagle Ridge, or any other condo communities - feel free to email me.
Good luck with your move!
