I am buying a home for 79,900. will i be able to get the 8,000 back this yr. or do i have to wait until 2010?

Hi Joey!
If you close on this home in 2009, then yes, you must wait until you file your 2009 taxes - in 2010. Also, you won't necessarily get $8000 "back", as it is a tax "credit". For more information, go to http://www.federal housingtaxcredit.com.
